GOOD FRIDAY APPEAL RELAY – THURSDAY 13 APRIL

The MFB Charity Running Club is hosting a 14-hour long distance virtual 170km marathon on Easter Thursday (April 13th) to help raise funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.  This very worthy charity needs our support.

This is the 58th year of the UFU / MFB involvement in the Royal Children’s Hospital main annual fundraiser. Every year, the MFB holds events on Easter Thursday and Good Friday to raise funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital. The UFU urges members to get involved as much as possible.

Between 7am and 9pm on Easter Thursday, firefighters will be tin shaking in Bourke Street Mall while teams from both fire brigades (MFB & CFA)  race each other on treadmills in the 14-hour long virtual 170km marathon.  Members of the public will also have the opportunity to sponsor their chosen brigade per kilometre so that very kilometre run donates more funds to the Appeal.

Whether as a tin shaker or a runner, the Running Club needs volunteers to come along to the city and get involved. For more information or to sign up, contact MFB firefighter James Beard at jbeard@mfb.vic.gov.au and visit the official website goodfridayappeal.mfbcrc.org.au.
