SUPPORT FOR UFU INDUSTRIAL OFFICER GEORGIE KIMMEL
Fundraiser event, auction donations, and GoFundMe!
This is a special notice to all UFU members from UFU Staff with the support of BCOM regarding our UFU Industrial Officer Georgie Kimmel.
Georgie joined the UFU as an Industrial Officer over a year ago and has worked with members from CFA, MFB and ESTA in her time here. Georgie is well known in the union movement; she has spent over three decades of her life working for unions (including ASU, AMWU, HACSU) as well as Victorian Trades Hall Council, supporting union members and progressing campaigns and issues that matter to workers.
As some members may be aware, Georgie was recently diagnosed with inoperable cancer and is no longer able to work. She requires financial assistance and we, as part of her union family, are driving support for her.
We are holding a family-friendly fundraiser event for Georgie to celebrate her contribution to the UFU and the wider trade union movement and to ensure that her time can be spent focusing on things other than her finances.
