INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY AND DIVERSITY WITHIN THE FIRE SERVICE

As members are aware, the UFU and its membership has always been proactive in pursuing initiatives to enhance diversity within the workforce.

This can be evidenced by the UFU being the catalyst for and a foundation partner with the MFB for the first ever diversity conference in the fire services that was attended by national and international guests.

There have been many other initiatives developed by the UFU and its members such as a ground-breaking program of a proposed traineeship and mentoring for socio-economically disadvantaged youth.

In continuing with this commitment Victorian Trades Hall Council have organised the following for affiliate unions to coincide with International Women’s Day (8th of March).

A UFU delegate’s telephone conference will be scheduled to discuss the following.
