AMBASSADORS FOR CHANGE PROGRAM

With the State Government announcement last week of the restructure of the fire services the UFU has now had time to consider the proposal by the State Government for fire service reform. To avoid any scaremongering or misinformation being disseminated there has been a new role created which is a non-political and non-industrial role known as Ambassadors for Change.

These roles have been filled by respected fire officers firefighters that have standing amongst their peers and within the community.

These fire officers/firefighters are from all ranks including senior officers from the ranks of Operations Officer, Operations Manager, ACFO and Commander as well as Senior Station officers and Station Officers.

Importantly, these people have been selected not by the UFU, but by their peers as nominees who can speak to a broad spectrum of firefighters, volunteers and the community to communicate the factual position on the Government’s proposed reform to the fire services and the benefit of that reform for the safety of the community and firefighters.

The UFU thanks the Ambassadors for Change for their participation in this important program.

Any queries please contact Rini Krouskos at the UFU office on 9419 8811.
