The UFU has filed an appeal against the Federal Court decision which found the minimum staffing clauses in the CFA UFU Operational Staff Agreement 2010 were invalid and unenforceable due to constitutional reasons.
The UFU understands that the CFA is intending to use NSW firefighters and appliances in CFA stations to backfill trucks and crews that have been deployed to fire-grounds such as the Yallourn-Hazelwood mine fire.
Members are advised that the ballot for protected industrial action has been approved with 98% of those that voted approving the action.
A highly successful UFU industrial training seminar was held this week arming more than 80 delegates with the tools to implement a powerful industrial and political campaign to further the industrial interests of UFU members.

Today, after approximately 2 years of negotiations and ongoing industrial action by members, the Unions, before the Fair Work Commission at a special Saturday conference, reached in principle agreement on all outstanding matters for the ESTA Operational Employees Enterprise Agreement.
Further to bulletin 16, today ESTA purported to respond to the Union proposal put to ESTA at the first meeting following the no vote.
