On Sunday 7 April, on-duty and off-duty UFU members assisted community organisation Compassionate Friends Victoria with their annual event Walk to Remember.

Compassionate Friends Victoria is a community organisation that provides support and assistance to bereaved parents, families and friends of children who have passed away.

UFU members assisted CFV with the cooking of the BBQ lunch and also showed off the pumper and heavy rescue to some very curious little ones!

A curious little one … very interested in the Heavy Rescue!

UFU members also marshalled the walk, to ensure participants safely arrived at CFV’s touching ceremony held in memory of participants’ loved ones.

This is the third year that the UFU has been involved in this very worthy cause and we are honoured to have once again played a part on the day.

Finally, the Union wishes to thank MFB Deputy Chief Officer David Bruce for his support for this event as well as the following members for their presence: PAD Operator Peter Quill, SSO Frank Howell, SO John McBride, SO Phil Cuthbert, LFF Rob Gamble, LFF Jake Callaghan, LFF David Valsorda, QFF Jamie Andrikopolous and FF Peter Fisher.
