CFA REVIEW – MILDURA
Members are advised that the UFU has raised with CFA management that it has serious concerns regarding a review of Mildura CFA Fire Operations that CFA proposed to take place today.
To ensure the members are properly represented during this process in accordance with the CFA Operational Agreement processes, the UFU requested that the CFA provide in writing to the UFU and its members the terms of reference of such review inclusive of who will be conducting such review and indeed the purpose of the review.
Additionally the UFU requested of a result of members contacting the UFU that adequate notice be given to employees who are requested to participate in the review and indeed ensure that the employee right to representation if requested is facilitated by the CFA.
We remind all members that it is their right to representation and if there is an attempt to bypass your right to representation and structured processes please contact Martin Davis Industrial Officer at the UFU office immediately on 9419 8811.
We understand why are members have requested representation in particular in the context that the CFA have previously contacted a review of Mildura Fire Station Operations. The review made many accusations of the fire officers stationed there at such time of which after proper analysis the accusations were found to be untrue and the CFA eventually had to apologise to the fire officers concerned.
If you are approached to take part in the review please contact the UFU immediately
