CFA Volunteer Rally against MFB & CFA

The UFU has been contacted by a number of members expressing their disappointment and concern at the attempted interference by the VFBV and some CFA Volunteer Brigades in our negotiations and renewal of enterprise agreements for both MFB & CFA Operational Staff Members.

On behalf of the Branch Committee of Management we congratulate members for their professionalism and discipline in not responding to such unwanted and provocative interference by a third party.

This rally and attack on the bargaining is not supported by all volunteer brigades.

A number of CFA Volunteer Brigades have contacted the UFU officially informing us that they wish it to be known that they categorically do not support the VFBV rally or its position.

For the record it will be somewhat embarrassing for the participants when the truth is known that the rally and protest was founded on misinformation and untruths.

The UFU has decided to not make comment in the media or respond to untruths that have been propagated, at this point in time.

We respectfully request that UFU members also refrain from making any comment to the media or indeed engage in social media on this issue.

Members can be reassured that despite their best efforts, the UFU will continue to bargain in good faith with the appropriate parties and will not be distracted by ill-informed third part comment.

If you have any queries the Branch Secretary can be contacted on 0419 127 004.
