Bulletin No: 268 Volume: 19 Monday 16 December 2013
To ALL UFU MEMBERS
Christmas Closure, Housekeeping , Picnic & After Hours Contacts
On behalf of the Branch Committee of Management, both the President and myself extend best wishes to UFU members and their families for both Christmas festivities and the beginning of a New Year.
We extend our appreciation to all members but also acknowledge the sacrifice that those who are on duty make in protecting the community by being absent from their families on Christmas Day and indeed the festive season.
The Union office will be closed from Monday December 23rd and reopen on January 6, 2014, if members require assistance they should contact in the first instance their Shop Steward and if necessary their BCOM Representative.
Additionally the Branch Secretary will be contactable on his mobile during the holiday period in an emergency.
End of year retired members Christmas Function
Once again we express our gratitude to the social committee and members who have given their time to assist and attend the UFU retired members Christmas Function.
As part of our Union dues a small proportion is set aside to facilitate a retired members Christmas function each year, this has not only been a proud tradition within the UFU but also gives us the opportunity to express our gratitude to our retired member for the sacrifices they have made and the increase in conditions that such sacrifices provided.
On a sadder note we express our sympathy and condolences to the families of our retired members who passed away during 2012. May they rest in peace.
As advised in 2012 the rule change requiring an AGM has been amended so as the continued problem with lack of quorum to endorse the financial accounts can now be rectified by the BCOM.
As such the 2013 Financial Accounts are now available on the website in the secure accounts area.
If you have any queries please contact the UFU office and or the Secretary on 9419 8811.
Members are reminded that the UFU Annual Picnic has been set for Sunday February 16, 2014. The picnic provides an opportunity for UFU members and their families to socialise and enjoy a day of rides, food and a great picnic atmosphere with their colleagues and families.
Please note this date in your diary, further information will follow as the day draws nearer.
Wishing you all a safe and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Strength in Unity
