DELEGATE TELEPHONE CONFERENCES SCHEDULED TOMORROW TO INTRODUCE NEW WELFARE OFFICER

The UFU is scheduling a number of telephone conferences with delegates tomorrow in order to introduce them to the UFUs internal welfare officer Ross Fusca.

It’s important that delegates are aware of this new service so as they can refer Members to Ross if the need arises.

Ross comes to us with thirty years’ experience in law enforcement with the Australian Federal Police, attaining the substantive rank of Detective Sergeant.

Within this role, he held the position of Welfare Officer (Victoria and Tasmania), encompassing portfolios including Return to Work Coordinator, Equal Opportunities Officer, Sexual Harassment Contact Officer, Aboriginal Liaison Officer and Regional Mediator.

In his role of “Forward Post Commander” Ross led the Australian Contingent in Phuket assisting Thai authorities with the Victim Identification efforts after the Boxing Day Tsunami.

Ross can provide assistance to members based on this wealth of experience and will also have at his disposal the ability to refer UFU members to independent external services if required.

The conferences will be scheduled over the course of tomorrow.

Ross can be contacted by members confidentially at: ufuwelfareofficer@gmail.com or 0477 884 456.
