To ALL UFU MEMBERS
ESTA MEMBERS VOTE NO!
Today, ESTA’s ballot for their unilateral agreement has been counted and ESTA’s staff have rejected the proposed Agreement by a convincing majority ‘no’ vote.
Despite ESTA’s tactics of delay and frustration then seeking to put the Agreement out for a vote over the Christmas period, this outcome means that ESTA must now come back to the bargaining table and genuinely seek to reach agreement.
The proposed ESTA Agreement put out for a ballot was not an Agreement reached with the Unions and ESTA and was not been endorsed by the Union bargaining representatives.
This outcome of today’s vote should be a clear message to ESTA management that members are not prepared to accept ESTA’s current position that included severe limitations on career progression.
With the Agreement being voted down negotiations will continue between the parties and the obligations of good faith bargaining apply.
The Unions will be requesting a meeting with ESTA’s bargaining team ASAP to continue negotiations.
Members should be congratulated for their strength and conviction during a very difficult negotiation to date. It is this level of commitment that will achieve fair and reasonable conditions of employment.
Members should feel confident that with your continued collective strength, we will overcome this dispute.
If members have any queries please do not hesitate to contact your local delegate or UFU industrial Officer Rini Krouskos on 9419 8811.
