FAIR WORK COMMISSION INTERIM OUTCOME ARISING FROM TODAY’S HEARING RE KRONOS

Today a hearing occurred at the Fair Work Commission in relation to the CFA seeking to unilaterally implement Kronos. Once again, the CFA arrived with a procession of lawyers, executives and HR managers.

At the hearing the parties were in dispute as to the status quo while the substantive dispute is being resolved. The Commission has issued directions for a hearing to occur on the status quo issue for early in November.

With the assistance of the Commission, the parties have agreed on a without prejudice process where the UFU also reserves all its rights in relation to the status quo hearing.

The agreed process is only pending further hearing which has been scheduled on 6 November 2014.

The process is as follows:

  • Training will commence for Cranbourne and Dandenong tomorrow with the system able to go live following the trial. There will be a dummy VV system running parallel to Kronos to enable parallel data.
  • Frankston and Hallam will also undergo training however will not go live and will remain using the VV system pending the further hearing.
  • Other stations and members from other stations will remain using the VV system.

Further information will be given as the matter progresses.

In the meantime should members have any queries please contact either your delegate or Michelle Baldini on 0417 839 549.
