FIREFIGHTERS DEFEND FIREFIGHTER FAMILY
Last night there was a telephone conference of 70 female firefighting members who expressed their disappointment and dissatisfaction that the fire services review that has yet to be released has partly and selectively been referred to the Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission. The Firefighters on the conference call were adamant that a continued focus on Gender diversity by the minister was a distraction from the Enterprise Agreement and disingenuous. They have called for the Victorian Government to Honour, Respect and Value all Firefighters.
A link to a radio interview with Emily Trimble from this morning has been provided below and is a great example of the way female firefighters have responded to the issue by defending our firefighter family.
Additionally our female firefighter members have asked to be involved in further action regarding this matter.
