Industrial Bans Update – Suspension of Ban #16

As previously advised, the UFU intends to make application to the Fair Work Commission for further Protected Industrial Action with the intention to continue to pressure the CFA to bargain in good faith and finalise your Workplace Agreement. We will be seeking input from members about suggested bans they would like to see implemented – suggestions will be considered by the Protected Action Subcommittee and can be forwarded to org2@ufuvic.asn.au  no later than Wednesday 16 March.

In preparation for this work BCOM is undertaking a review of the current Industrial Bans with a view to complementing these with additional bans to facilitate escalation. As a first step of this review we have decided to suspend Ban #16. The Protected Action Subcommittee will meet on 18 March to consider the effectiveness of the current bans and consider potential new bans.

Members are advised that as of 6pm today Ban #16 as follows is suspended:

“Not accepting recalls at an employee’s home station or rostered station except for employees rostered to Mildura fire station, unless to do so would result in the closure of a station”.

Please note that at this stage all other bans as previously notified remain in place. For a full list of protected industrial actions please refer to bulletin number 006.

Should members have any queries regarding this bulletin, please contact your delegate or the Branch Secretary.
