MEMBERS ASKED TO SUPPORT LES TWENTYMAN FOUNDATION THIS CHRISTMAS

The fire on Tuesday at Little Saigon Market destroyed Christmas Gifts that were donated to the Les Twentyman Foundation for their Annual Christmas Party as well as significant resources for other programs run by the organisation.

In response to this tragic incident the Firefighters Charity Fund will be donating $10,000 to the Les Twentyman Foundation in addition to any funds that members would like to donate to the cause.

Members who wish to contribute to the Firefighters Charity Funds donation to the Les Twentyman Foundation can do so by visiting https://www.givenow.com.au/firefighterscharityfund and clicking on the one time donation button.

Toy Drive

The presents destroyed in the fire were to be given out at the Foundations Annual Christmas Party to disadvantaged children and their families. For many children the gifts they receive from the Les Twentyman Foundation are the only gifts they will receive this Christmas.

The UFU is organising a toy drive to help replace the presents destroyed in the fire.

Members are encouraged to bring any presents they can suitable for children or teenagers to fire stations or to  the VEMTC or Burnley Training Colleges by Tuesday the 20th of December in order to be picked up in time for Christmas.

Presents should be wrapped and labelled with an age range and whether it’s for a boy, girl or suited to either.

Presents for children aged 10 and upwards are preferred but any donation is welcome.

Please do not donate second-hand goods.

For more information please contact Dan on 0419 127 045 or speak to your shop steward.
