MFB APPLICATION TO

TERMINATE ENTERPRISE

AGREEMENTS

As members would be aware, the MFB has applied to the Fair Work Commission to terminate the entire MFB UFU Operational Staff Agreement 2010 as well as the entire MFB UFU Assistant Chief Fire Officer Agreement 2010.

If the MFB is successful in their applications every clause and conditions of employment contained within these enterprise agreements will no longer apply.

As the UFU has previously advised, under the relevant provisions of the Fair Work Act, the Fair Work Commission is required to take into account the views of employees in making a decision as to whether to terminate the agreements or not.

In line with this, the UFU is providing the opportunity, to any operational employee who might wish to express their views regarding this issue to contact the UFU and provide a witness statement with a view to it being filed as evidence in the UFU defence of the MFB’s application.
