MFB CORP AND TECH BARGAINING UPDATE- FWC ISSUES ORDER FOR PROTECTED INDUSTRIAL ACTION BALLOT

Further to Bulletin #19 UFU Corp and Tech members are advised that yesterday FWC issued an order for a ballot of members for protected industrial action.

The UFU has been bargaining with the MFB since November last year for a new enterprise agreement for Corp and Tech members however to date no agreement has been reached on any major claim and in fact the MFB has overwhelming rejected most of the UFU’s claim.

As such, as advised to members previously, the UFU made an application to FWC to seek a ballot of members for protected industrial action. The MFB did not object to this application and the order for the ballot has now been issued.

From here, members will be sent a ballot paper from the AEC to vote on the industrial action. We remind members that in order to receive a ballot you need to ensure that your postal address is up to date with both the union and the MFB. If in doubt, please ensure this is updated urgently or you may not receive a ballot.

In order to take industrial action of ballots posted at least 50% need to be returned and 50% +1 must be a yes vote. As such, it is vital that all members vote!

THE UFU BELIEVES IT IS IN YOUR INTEREST TO VOTE YES TO THIS INDUSTRIAL ACTION IN ORDER TO FURTHER YOUR CAMPAIGN FOR IMPROVED WORKING CONDITIONS

If members have any queries in relation to this ballot or bargaining please contact UFU Industrial Officers Rini Krouskos or Stuart Miller on 9419 8811.

Further, as per Bulletin #19 members are reminded that the UFU is holding membership meetings across different work locations to provide members with a full update as to the status of bargaining and protected industrial action . Meetings are to be convened at the various work locations as follows:
