Minute silence to be observed at change of shift tomorrow

“Never forget, always remembered”

Overnight, the 18th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks will take place in America.

On September 11 2001, 343 firefighters of the New York City Fire Department perished in the line of duty.   A further 200 firefighters have passed since September 11 due to injury or illness as a result of their service that day.

These firefighters made the ultimate sacrifice in responding to the communities that they served.

The UFU respectfully asks that  members, at change of shift tomorrow (0800hrs), honour those fallen firefighters with a minute silence on station.
