To ALL UFU MEMBERS
OPEN LETTER OF
INVITATION TO MFB
Open Letter of invitation to UFU meeting for Acting Chief Fire Officer Peter Rau, Deputy Chief Officer Paul Stacchino and former UFU President David Youssef.
On behalf of the Branch Committee of management and indeed the membership of the UFU I cordially extend this invitation for you to attend the UFU membership meetings scheduled for 9.30am and 7.30pm tomorrow at the Victorian Trades Hall Council.
The invitation is sent in the spirit of openness and transparency to enable you to substantiate the claims you have made in recent times regarding the current operational staff enterprise agreement.
We are aware that in part you have produced at least three YouTube videos directed at MFB employees covered by the above agreement articulating your reason for requesting Fair Work Australia to either set aside the agreement or alternatively advocating justification for your attempts to remove current conditions of employment.
We are also aware of the claims that the MFB have made to media outlets and indeed in written correspondence to employees regarding the above.
Given the substantial changes that you are seeking to make to MFB operational employees conditions, it would not be of surprise that there is considerable interest regarding this matter and in particular a desire to obtain the factual and truthful situation regarding the MFB positions.
As such the UFU President Dave Hamilton will guarantee that you would be afforded all respect and treated with dignity whilst giving you an opportunity to qualify your position to employees who will be in attendance.
We see this as an opportunity for employees to be able to gain a truthful understanding of the factual situation rather than hearing various allegations and counter allegations in the different forums as stated above.
Could you please confirm if one of your representatives is able to attend tomorrow’s meeting.
Strength in Unity
