TONIGHT

VARIATION TO THE

MINIMUM STAFFING

SCHEDULE

As a result of the successful Full Bench Federal Court Appeal by the UFU, the CFA will now have to vary the staffing schedule to increase the minimum staffing by 170 positions.

These positions are already deployed in CFA and are separate to the Government commitment of an additional 450 CFA and MFB firefighters. Members should also be aware these are new positions and are not positions due to attrition.

Members who are covered by the CFA UFU Operational Staff Enterprise Agreement will be asked to vote on a variation to the Agreement to include the changes agreed at Schedule 1.

Reminder to all UFU members there are a number of scheduled members meetings to discuss the variation to the staffing schedule.

The details of the meetings are as follows:

  • Thursday 14 May 2015  7pm  Geelong City Fire Station (TONIGHT)
  • Tuesday 19 May 2015  5pm  Hallam Fire Station
  • Wednesday 20 May 2015  5pm  Bendigo Fire Station

Members should have already received an email and mail from the CFA a copy of the varied schedule and an explanation of the changes.

Members will be asked to approve the variation to Schedule 1 – the staffing schedule.

The vote will be conducted by postal ballot to commence on 15 May 2015 and will finish on 5 June 2015. This represents a 3 week voting period. The postal votes must be mailed and received by the AEC by 5 June 2015.

MEMBERS NEED TO MAKE SURE THEY POST THEIR BALLOT ASAP.

Should members have any further queries, please contact Industrial Officer Michelle Baldini at the UFU Office on 9419 8811.
