Bulletin No: 053 Volume: 22 Thursday 25 February 2016
To all MFB ops members
REMINDER: PROTECTED INDUSTRIAL ACTION RE MANAGEMENT SITE VISITS
The UFU has become aware that MFB management are planning are series of station visits, which we have reason to believe is a divisive tactical effort to undermine industrial action.
While members are of course entitled to agree to these visits at their discretion, your right to refuse is still covered by the protected industrial action effective on the 20th of January, specifically ban number 6.
The relevant ban stipulates that members are entitled to the following action:
Only attending meetings at which any of the Chief Officer, Deputy Chief Officers, Chief Executive Officer, Corporate Managers or Corporate Directors attend if the purpose of the meeting is notified in advance and is about operational incidents, operational de-briefing, training, securing public health or occupational health and safety, or enterprise agreement bargaining;
For a full list of protected industrial actions, please refer to Bulletin Number 007, Volume 22.
If you have any queries regarding ban number 6, or any other protected industrial action, please contact the UFU office, your Shop Steward or the Branch Secretary.
