Bulletin No: 172 Volume: 22 Friday 28 October 2016
To: ALL UFU MEMBERS
REMINDER: UFU MEMBERS ASKED TO PARTICIPATE IN SURVEY REGARDING PFC BLOOD TESTING AND ‘JUSTICE FOR FISKVILLE’ CAMPAIGN
Members are reminded that the UFU has developed an electronic survey mapping the extent of the concerns of members in relation to PFC Blood testing practices.
Members have informed the UFU of inconsistencies in the way that testing has occurred and in the way that results have been communicated.
Those members who have had PFC blood testing are requested to fill out the following Survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/M5T3R9S
Members are also encouraged to join the UFU’s ‘Justice for Fiskville’ campaign.
The campaign is advocating for firefighters exposed to toxic contamination at the Fiskville CFA training facility. It has been established in response to concern that victims of Fiskville are not being properly identified and tested.
The UFU is asking the Andrews Government to take carriage of blood testing and calls on those responsible to be held accountable.
Members can visit the campaign website at www.justiceforfiskville.com.au and those who have attended the Fiskville training college are strongly urged to sign the ‘Victims of Fiskville’ register.
If you wish to speak to someone about this, please contact Dan at the UFU office on 0419 127 045.
