To all candidates who competed in the election we wish you all the best in the future and look forward to your involvement in the united way in the activities of our union.

There was an extremely high return of ballot papers with almost 60% of members voting even though it is not compulsory. This shows that the democratic processes of our Union is alive and well, but most importantly, our members care enough about having a say in the governance and direction of their Union.  This is extremely unusual in many Unions, where voting numbers are usually of a low return.

In closing, as State and National Secretary, whether you voted for or against any of the candidates, now is the time to come together as a Union to meet and defeat the challenges that we collectively face.

Strength in Unity
