To ALL UFU MEMBERS
RETIRED MEMBERS CHRISTMAS FUNCTION
11.30AM SATURDAY 15 NOVEMBER
MALVERN TOWN HALL
Members are advised and encouraged to make the effort to attend, even if for a short while, to express gratitude to our retired firefighters and their families at this Saturday’s function.
Historically and traditionally out of respect for the efforts, sacrifices and solidarity that our retired members showed during their term as operational or support staff members, the union facilitates the holding of Christmas lunch for retired members and their families each year.
The UFU Social Committee are instrumental in working tirelessly in organising this event and making it the success of which it has been in past years and no doubt this year’s event will be just as successful if not more.
It is also a time to reflect on those retired members who have passed away during the last twelve months and show respect by the ceremony of observing a minute’s silence while the names are read out from the honour list.
The conditions that we currently have are a direct legacy left to us as custodians by our retired members and it would be great as part of the extended family to take a small portion of your time to call in, say hello and express a Christmas cheer.
The UFU is a special family of dedicated committed members and this traditional and historical function, funded by current membership dues, is one that illustrates the strength of our union and its history.
If you have any queries, please contact either Peter Marshall or Nick Draper by the union office on 9419 8811.
