SAFETY ALERT: VOLUNTEER SUPPORT MAY BE DIMINISHED TOMORROW

As members may be aware the VBFB is planning a rally in the city on Saturday and are using CFA appliances for a motorcade.

The rally is in protest of the Enterprise Agreement Bargaining process, members should not react to the volunteers protesting against our enterprise agreement.

However we are concerned regarding the health and safety of the community and professional firefighters due to appliances across the state being taken from Volunteer stations and driven to Melbourne which could diminish the CFA’s response capacity.

Members should be prepared for the potential danger to the community and lack of support that the reduced number of volunteers may present tomorrow.

A letter has been sent to the Chief Officer of the CFA and Minister for Emergency Services which members can view here.
