SPECIAL GENERAL MEMBERS MEETING TOMORROW – EVENING MEETING POSTPONED UNTIL WEDNESDAY (MORNING MEETING STILL OCCURRING)
Members are reminded that there will be a Special General Members Meeting 9:30am tomorrow morning to give members a full report on the implications of the CFA’s undertaking to the VFBV.
The undertaking was given as a result of a Supreme Court hearing on Wednesday and will delay voting on the EBA whilst the matter is being heard in the Supreme Court. It is not yet known how long this delay will be but hearing dates have been scheduled from the 22- 29th in the Supreme Court.
The Secretary at short notice is required to attend interstate in relation to these matters and as a result the night meeting will have to be postponed until Wednesday the 24th of August. The Branch Committee of Management apologises for any inconvenience this has caused. The morning meeting will not be affected.
At the meeting members will be given a full briefing on Wednesday’s hearing as well as the UFU’s legal strategy going forward.
The UFU has already stated that members in attendance at Wednesday’s hearing have expressed concern that the CFAs opposing case against the VFBV lacked detail and was not very forceful and more will be said about that at the meeting.
The Members Meetings will be held at:
Victoria Trades Hall
54 Victoria Street, Carlton
Tuesday 23 August 2016
9.30am Tuesday 23 August
or 7.30pm Wednesday 24 August
Telephone hook-ups of delegates have been convened and further information will be provided to members in the coming days.
As always children are welcome at the above mentioned meetings. There will be free childcare available with registered childminding professionals. Those members that wish to use this service should notify the UFU by no later than close of business today the number of children and their age(s).
Please RSVP your attendance to email@example.com
