ASSISTANCE REQUIRED:

UFU Community Liaison Program

As members may be aware, the Union has assisted various charity organisations as part of our community liaison program.

Last December, UFU members assisted the Les Twentyman Foundation with Christmas presents for disadvantaged children and teenagers.  Additionally, the UFU also assisted The Way Community, a refuge for homeless men, who provide various services including palliative care.  These organisations provide a vital service to the community in particular the most vulnerable members of the community.

As part of the UFU’s ongoing community liaison program, the UFU has also engaged with other Unions to provide further assistance to The Way Community refuge.  The UFU has also asked the MFB if it would be able to facilitate assistance where required.

In this context, we are currently organising to build an outdoor BBQ in the refuge’s outdoor area. Assistance is needed, in particular members who have skills in bricklaying and electrical, to build/install an outdoor electric BBQ.  This will enable the residents to enjoy a BBQ outside with the proper safety mechanisms to ensure the safety of residents. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Please contact the UFU Office as soon as you are able if you can provide the above services.
