UFU DELEGATES TRAINING CONFERENCE A SUCCESS:

INFORMATION RE FURTHER TRAINING IN 2018

The UFU thanks those Delegates who attended the UFU Delegate Training Conference on Monday and Tuesday of this week.

The Delegates Conference was attended by a significant number of UFU Delegates.  This was the largest attendance at a UFU Delegate Training Conference so far and illustrates the level of interest and involvement of our Delegates and also further reinforces the strength of our Union.

Most gratifying was that the number of Delegates that attended who had less than 4 years in the job.  This is an indication of the level of engagement and is one that will further nurture our Union for future challenges.

Delegates received general industrial training, HSR-specific training, a wealth of other industrial information, and more.  Much of what was decided at the Conference will no doubt be disseminated to the membership over the coming weeks by Delegates.

The UFU advises that in the second half of 2018 the following training sessions will occur:

  1. Training day for Delegates on how to read their specific Enterprise Agreement
  2. Training day for Delegates on how to issue a PIN at their Station/work location

The UFU is also looking to create an online portal for Delegates on our UFU website for both introductory and refresher Delegate training that is specific to our Union.

In the meantime, training modules will be developed for Delegates in relation to the above training days.
