FIRE SERVICE REFORM AND PRESUMPTIVE LEGISLATION
UNION ENSURING THAT MEMBERS ARE KEPT INFORMED
Members are informed that over the weekend the Union held a number of telephone conferences at various work locations as well as BCOM visits. These calls and visits answered questions that members had following the deceitful and dishonest actions by the LNP in particular, Matthew Guy, Bernie Finn and Craig Ondarchie, in dishonouring the long-standing parliamentary convention to vote down Victorian fire service reform and firefighters’ cancer legislation.
Members have rightly felt angered, frustrated and disillusioned by this act of bastardry however, as stated in Bulletin #057 published Sunday 1 April, fire service reform (FRV) and presumptive legislation is alive and well.
If your work location would like the UFU Office to organise a telephone conference with the Branch Secretary to discuss these matters, please contact Laura Campanaro on 9419 8811 with your platoon station/work location for the call or, alternatively, one mobile number for the conference call.
The telephone conferences conducted over the weekend were scheduled at the same time as change of shift to maximise attendance.
If possible, members are requested that we repeat the above arrangement that is, conduct the conference call with one telephone line being either the work location’s direct line or alternatively a mobile phone number to enable all present to participate.
