UFU Staff respectfully reminds members that the fundraiser event for our Industrial Officer Georgie Kimmel is fast approaching!
The UFU thanks members for their donations. As members know, Georgie is no longer able to work. UFU members and trade unionists across Victoria have so far raised over $6,000 for Georgie! Thank you for your generous donations and for your messages of support to Georgie.
WHAT HAVE WE GOT PLANNED FOR THE DAY?
- Gourmet carvery lunch & drinks
- Trade unionist Wil Stracke will MC in the afternoon
- Live acoustic music by the Bipolar Bears!
- Fire trucks!
- Live photobooth
- Face painting and balloon twisting for the kids (2:00pm – 3:30pm)
- Live auction – Items include a signed Gough Whitlam election campaign print, signed Jimmy Bartel Brownlow print, Mornington Peninsula Hot Springs voucher, hotel packages, wine, ‘Chief for the Day’ experience for kids, and much, much more!
The UFU will also present Georgie with the VTHC Zelda D’aprano award on the day, which was awarded to Georgie at the Trades Hall Labour Day Dinner last Friday. This award recognises Georgie’s decades of work supporting unionists and workers in Victoria.

For those attending please note that at 3pm on Saturday a minute silence will be observed in recognition of Workers’ Memorial Day.
