MEMBERS ASKED TO SUPPORT SACKED CUB WORKERS ON THURSDAY
As members would be aware the fight continues for the 55 Carlton United Breweries workers who were sacked and reoffered their jobs with a 65% reduction in pay earlier this year.
There has been weeks of growing industrial and boycott action. In the past month, 10,000 people have rallied in the streets, more pubs have turned off their CUB taps and the campaign is growing stronger.
The Footy finals are CUB’s busiest season and Trades Hall is organising supporters to tell as many people as possible not to drink any CUB products this Grand Final weekend.
This Thursday is the last chance to get that message across.
On Thursday morning from 7:30am – 9am members will be at Flinders Street Station handing out flyers asking Victorians to boycott CUB and send a loud and clear message to CUB that the community are behind the CUB55.
This battle is bigger than the CUB55 – it’s a battle against giant corporations who want to rip off workers to increase profits.
If you are available to help out with this campaign please RSVP here or contact Trades Hall on 03 9659 3581.
