STAGE 4 RESTRICTIONS – PERMITTED WORKERS

The UFU has taken a supportive role towards FRV’s approach to the Covid-19 pandemic.  As previously stated, the UFU will not be providing additional information as the information provided by FRV has come from the relevant Government departments and medical experts.

However, as we have previously done, we would like to reinforce FRV’s recent correspondence regarding the wearing of face masks and updated regarding Stage 4 restrictions.

As such, members are respectfully requested to read the following out at muster. Thank you for your support.

Please read the following:

As members are aware, in the context of Stage 4 restrictions, emergency service workers are categorized by the Victorian Government as Permitted Workers.

Members employed by FRV would have yesterday received a Worker Permit from FRV, which members can populate with their personal details to present when travelling to/from work or travelling for work. Documentation was also sent from FRV for accessing childcare. For any queries in relation to these matters, please contact FRV in the first instance. If you still require additional information, please contact the UFU Office on 9419 8811 to speak to an Industrial Officer.

Wearing a mask

Stage 4 restrictions include the requirement to wear a mask, of which we emphasise the following communication from FRV:

Members are requested that they wear masks at all time whilst at work, including in the mess – being in the mess for prolonged periods without a mask should be avoided wherever possible.

Hygiene practices

Members should remain vigilant in their hygiene practices and continue to practice physical distancing – FRV will continue to play an important role in the State’s pandemic response and it is essential that all members remain healthy and operational.

Your health and safety, and that of your families, is paramount.

Recently, the UFU received a message from the Government expressing their appreciation of the dedication and commitment that FRV personnel have provided in recent times.

Welfare support for UFU members and families

Should the current restrictions be impacting your welfare, or that of your family, please contact Ross Fusca on 0477 884 456 or ufuwelfareofficer@gmail.com.
