ESTA WALKS AWAY FROM NEGOTIATIONS

Your bargaining team are frustrated to report that ESTA has cancelled this week’s bargaining meeting.

The Agreement expires in less than 4 weeks and ESTA is still not in a position to bargain. ESTA claim to need 2 weeks to discuss the Unions claim of minimum staffing. This is not good enough given the Unions had hoped to reach in principle agreement on a new enterprise agreement before the current agreement expires on 30 June 2015 but due to ESTA’s inaction this is looking increasingly unlikely.

Members are advised that the Unions are now considering their position regarding protected industrial action which can be taken after expiry of the Agreement. We will update members further on this matter. Meetings will be scheduled soon.

Bargaining negotiations recommence on Thursday 11 June.

If you have further enquiries please contact your union delegate or official.
