OUTCOME OF MFB AND CFA
BARGAINING CONCILIATIONS
IN THE FAIR WORK COMMISSION
Yesterday (CFA) and today (MFB) the UFU applications for conciliation on the bargaining for the CFA and MFB Operational Staff Agreements were heard in the Fair Work Commission.
The UFU made it clear that throughout the five-tier bargaining process implemented by the Government, that significant agreement had been reached but that the Government was now failing to honour those agreements.
Yesterday afternoon a process was agreed to ensure the CFA and the Government (through Industrial Relations Victoria) clearly articulated their position regarding clauses they now say are not agreed.
The UFU have already provided the CFA and the Fair Work Commission with the current status of the bargaining identifying clauses not agreed.
The Fair Work Commission has issued a recommendation where CFA/IRV will provide a list of any disagreed matters and explain the nature of those disagreements. The UFU is to respond with the material that confirms when the agreements were made and who with.
This process will clearly define the CFA/Government’s position in detail and will prevent the ongoing slippery rhetoric and contradictory statements of representatives as to the specifics of the status of the agreements reached.
This morning a similar process was agreed in the Fair Work Commission with the MFB/IRV.
Members will be kept informed.
