UFU CONCERNS RAISED WITH CFA OVER SPARE PUMPERS
Due to numerous safety concerns and operational deficiencies raised by members regarding the type three heavy pumpers, the UFU wishes to advise its members that in the event of a type 4 Heavy Pumper requiring maintenance or going offline, members should request the CFA to exhaust all avenues to replace a type 4 heavy pumper on a like for like basis.
Exhausting all avenues includes the use of appliances from training grounds or other locations.
Should a like for like replacement be unavailable, the next option is a NSW back on a Scania cab chassis then a NSW back on an Isuzu cab chassis. If this is not available, members should contact the UFU office to arrange discussions with the CFA regarding other options.
The UFU is continuing to discuss this matter, and the lack of appropriate spare appliances, with the CFA at EBIC and subcommittees.
Any queries, please contact Michelle Baldini Industrial Officer at the UFU office on 9419 8811.
