To ALL UFU MEMBERS

UFU LIFE MEMBERS’

MESSAGE OF SOLIDARITY

IN THIS TIME OF STRUGGLE

The Life Members of the UFU met today to be updated on the seriousness of the current industrial and political climate including the extensive litigation by the CFA and MFB attacking the conditions of firefighters.

The UFU Life Members send a strong message of support and solidarity to UFU Members in their current struggle to protect the terms and conditions of employment that have been build up over many years by previous and current members.

The Life Members have seen many disputes come and go and had personally had been involved in developing the wages and working conditions that firefighters currently enjoy.

Despite many having witnessed industrial disharmony since the 1960s including 1990’s fight, they all agreed they had never such an attack on the livelihoods of firefighters and the integrity of the profession of fire fighting.

The Life Members recorded their extreme disappointment of the CFA and MFB management, and those supporting management, in the current attempt to tear down the conditions of employment that had been achieved over many decades.

The Life Members congratulate the UFU Branch Committee of Management and Members on their efforts and coordinated campaign to ensure that firefighters’ conditions can be preserved for generations to come.

The Life Members urge UFU Members to stay strong and maintain solidarity at all times.

Strength in Unity
