TO ALL UFU MFB OPERATIONAL MEMBERS

UFU RAISES HEALTH AND SAFETY CONCERNS RE OCCUPATION OF FIRESTATION 46 DURING CONSTRUCTION WORKS

Members are advised that the UFU has today contacted the MFB regarding ongoing concerns with the construction work occurring at FS 46 and potential health and safety risks at the station as a result.

The UFU has corresponded with the MFB in regards to the current situation at FS 46 resulting in remedial works taking place place today at the station to temporarily resolve some concerns.

The UFU and Health and Safety Representatives are still awaiting a hygienist to attend the station and report on the extraction of diesel particulates in the station and effectiveness of the exhaust fans.

We will provide further information to members regarding the diesel situation following the hygienist report.

In the meantime we thank the members at the station and HSR’s for their work in this matter.
