To ALL UFU CFA MEMBERS
UFU SEEKS DISCUSSIONS
TO AVOID ISSUES WITH
NSW TRUCKS AND FIRIES
IN CFA STATIONS
The UFU understands that the CFA is intending to use NSW firefighters and appliances in CFA stations to backfill trucks and crews that have been deployed to fire-grounds such as the Yallourn-Hazelwood mine fire.
There has been a request for additional resources due to the demands of the challenging Yallourn –Hazelwood protracted event which is of considerable complexity.
Members have notified the UFU of concerns regarding rostering and overtime issues.
The UFU has sought discussions with the CFA to be fully briefed on the request for, and use of NSW firefighters and trucks being used to backfill CFA stations to facilitate a resolution of all issues taking into account firefighter and community safety.
Members will be informed of any developments. In the interim please raise any concerns or issues with your shop steward or contact the UFU office on 9419 8811.
