UFU SUPPORTS THE PROTEST OVER CLIMATE CHANGE ON 20 SEPTEMBER
UFU members, in particular career firefighters, are well-acquainted with the impact of the climate crisis and how these extreme weather events have increased and altered the emergency incidents to which you respond.
Given the extreme weather events we are currently experiencing in Queensland and New South Wales, and in the lead up to the upcoming fire season, the United Firefighters Union supports off-duty UFU members attending the upcoming Global Climate Strike to demand the Federal Government takes immediate action.
GLOBAL CLIMATE STRIKE
Friday 20 September 2019
Union members to meet at Trades Hall Carlton at 1300hrs, to arrive at Treasury Gardens Melbourne at 1400hrs
UFU members are encouraged to wear UFU gear and bring a union flag from the UFU Office or their station, when attending the strike.
