SPECIAL GENERAL MEMBERS MEETING
Further to our recent Bulletins regarding the important information about the future of fire services to be announced at the Special General Members Meeting tomorrow, the UFU has written to Daniel Andrews Leader of the Opposition requesting clarification on the Labor Party’s policy if elected to Government.
Consistently firefighters have been under attack under a Napthine Government for the last four years and given that the state election is only two weeks away and the recent polling suggests there will be a change of Government.
We felt that along with an update regarding the future of fire services it would be important for members to hear what the policy is if Mr Andrews becomes Premier.
Additionally we will be seeking the same clarification from Mr Napthine as to his party’s plans if he is re-elected.
The latest attack on fire services was exposed today with the CFA plan to “harvest” 164 job losses leaked and the effect that will have on the fire services if allowed to continue.
