VALE GRAEME KELLETT
It is with great sadness that we advise members of the passing of CFA Fire Officer Graeme Kellett.
Graeme made an enormous contribution to the Fire Service and the Union over the course of his 32 year career with the CFA. He will be remembered for his empathy and kindness towards others as well as his commitment and advocacy in defence of individual members as a BCOM representative.
Graeme first worked with the CFA building appliances at the vehicle manufacture plant in Howitt. In 1977 he graduated his recruit course and commenced his career as a professional Firefighter stationed briefly at Norlane before taking up a position at Ballarat City Fire Station in 1978.
The majority of his career was served at Mildura as a Fire Officer level 2 from 1991 until 2007. He retired in 2009 at Sunbury.
Graeme was a long serving Branch Committee of Management representative and he worked tirelessly as a CFA Trustee who exemplified trade union principles.
His tireless commitment to preserving and enhancing the working conditions of our members is a legacy that will benefit generations to come.
Our thoughts are with Graeme’s wife Terri, his two daughters Julie and Veronica, his brother Ian and his extended family at this sad time.
