UFU SETTING UP VIDEO CONFERENCING FOR STATIONS –

TECH SAVVY MEMBERS WANTED TO FORM COMMITTEE

Communications is essential to ensure members remain informed in a timely manner. With the emergence and development of social media and ICT forums communicating our message to not only our membership but also the wider community has become easier. Building upon these advancements the UFU is in the process of implementing equipment that will further enhance our communication abilities with our membership at individual workplaces.

This will consist of a dedicated conferencing system similar to which is used in industrial and legal tribunals that will facilitate membership interaction without the necessity of for a general meeting. The video conferencing system will perform the function of filling the gap that currently exists between membership meetings and telephone conferencing. This advancement is part of the Branch committee of managements planning process to further enhance our campaigning and membership communication processes.

Please note the dedicated conferencing system is not intended to replace the important process enshrined in the Union Rules for decision making by members at Special General Meetings etc.

In the context of the above we are looking for members who would like to be part of a Sub Committee to develop and implement a member friendly video conferencing system.

Please contact Dan on 0419 127 045 if you would like to be involved.
