Following bulletin 255, yesterday, UFU representatives including a HSR and a BCOM representative, undertook a final inspection of the proposed reoccupation sites at Eastern Hill being the old building and the infill building.
Today the MFB and UFU received a copy of the full report of the investigation into asbestos within Eastern Hill including the old building and infill building.

Members are advised that the UFU has scheduled a member meeting for tomorrow at 10am at the Burnley Lecture Theatre to discuss the MFB’s proposed plans regarding the closure of Eastern Hill.
As members would be aware yesterday, the Unions met ESTA in the Fair Work Commission for a further bargaining conference.

Members are advised that following and in accordance with yesterdays UFU meeting, today at a meeting at the Fair Work Commission, the bargaining representatives have settled bargaining. The parties are now working through processes to proceed to the formal vote and finalisation.
The negotiations have now reached a critical stage and the UFU will be holding a UFU Corporate and Technical Staff meeting next Wednesday 6 November for members to consider the current status of negotiations and determine a way forward.
