THE AGE REPORTS: “What happened to us in West Footscray? Firefighters call for answers after toxic fire”

Today, The Age published a report detailing the effects of the 2018 West Footscray Fire on the professional career firefighters. 

Three members, in particular, came forward to describe their experiences both during and in the aftermath of the incident.  We acknowledge their work and sincerely thank those members for telling their stories.

This report is extensive and describes the event – particularly the first 48 hours – and the aftermath in great detail.  The Union is aware that reliving this experience can be difficult for many members.
